Talk 1: " Crypto-Tokens Framework for Balancing Trust, Challenges, and User Value "
Speaker: Elissar Toufaily, EMLV, Devinci Research Center
Abstract: Crypto-tokens and blockchain-based decentralized applications (DApps) promise new models of decentralized governance and financial empowerment, yet adoption remains constrained by trust. This paper examines the drivers and barriers of end-user trust toward crypto-tokens, blockchain platforms, and service providers. It highlights how technological features, governance structures, and use-case designs shape user confidence and adoption. The paper proposes a multidimensional framework that maps trust and its challenges across DApp layers and stages. This framework offers actionable guidance to developers, policymakers, and researchers. It helps design strategies that foster trust, enhance perceived value, and democratize the adoption of crypto-tokens beyond the DeFi ecosystem.
Talk 2: “Toward a New Bitcoin Paradigm. The Role of Institutional Investors and Nation States”
Speaker: Mieszko Mazur, ESSCA School of Management
Abstract: Since the beginning of 2024, Bitcoin has increasingly been recognized by traditional institutional investors as an important and distinct asset class for portfolio diversification and strategic allocation. Moreover, a number of nation states have begun to explore the viability of incorporating Bitcoin into their strategic reserves—an initiative that, until recently, would have been considered politically implausible. This study offers a comprehensive examination of the evolving perspectives on Bitcoin’s role within the global financial system, financial services sector, and the broader domain of monetary policy. It identifies and analyzes the principal catalysts underlying this shift in policy and presents projections for the medium-term outlook. In addition, our study assesses these developments through the analytical framework of Bitcoin price dynamics, with particular attention to a host of important factors that have been shown to influence Bitcoin pricing.
